Pfizer: Galileo, Copernicus, Isaac Newton Rock Out to Queen

Science rolls into the Super Bowl

Which brand will take home the 2024 Super Clio for the best Super Bowl commercial? We’ll find out on Feb. 12.

Galileo, Copernicus and Isaac Newton were epic rock stars of science. So, naturally, they lip-sync to Queen’s bombastically upbeat “Don’t Stop Me Now” in Pfizer’s first-ever Super Bowl commercial.

It’s an overused track, to be sure. Still, Freddie Mercury’s anthemic stylings meet the Big Game moment. They fittingly amplify the launch of a $15 million partnership between Pfizer and the American Cancer Society to help underserved communities.

Placing Pfizer’s co-founders in the ad among titans like Einstein, Ben Franklin, Marie Maynard Daly and the rest might seem like a tad much. But remember who’s footing the bill.

Noam Murro directed, bringing a decidedly light touch to potentially weighty subject matter.

Publicis Conseil and Le Truc/Publicis N.Y. developed the campaign.
