Sabrina Carpenter, Dunkin' 'Shake That Ess' for Brown Sugar Espresso
Sounds naughty. But it's not
When Sabrina Carpenter shakes a tumbler filled with coffee and brown sugar, the world takes note.
She’s generating beaucoup headlines with a :30 from Dunkin’, riffing on her mega-hit “Espresso” and getting a tad risqué.
The spot, from Ben Affleck’s Artists Equity and director Dave Meyers, intros a limited-time iced drink. At a party, everyone “Shakes That Ess.” Ess = espresso. It’s cheeky fun:
“We wanted to bring some levity to guests’ everyday coffee order,” says brand CMO Jill McVicar Nelson. “We’re showing guests that their new drink order can be both delicious and a wink at embracing life’s lighter side.”
Sabrina might sprain her wrist. But it’s worth it, with the campaign—teased in the run-up to New Year’s Eve—driving lots of interest.
Indeed, Dunkin’s leaned into pop culture and reaped the rewards. Past efforts featured Kristin Wiig, Will Arnett and Ice Spice.
Most famously, Affleck, Matt Damon and Tom Brady shook up Super Bowl LVIII in orange Dunkin’ tracksuits as a boy band.
