For Ugg, Post Malone Leads a Horse to Water
From the cowpokes at AKQA
UGG and Post Malone visit the not-so-Wild West in a cute spot from AKQA.
On the streets of a desolate frontier town, Post’s horse, Jasper, refuses to cross a puddle of water.
Malone proves most insistent…
…but the beast seems unimpressed. Maybe PM should try offering backstage passes.
There’s not much to it. But Malone co-starring with a horse rates a few words any day. It’s certainly charming, and props to the artist for rocking a postmodern Warren Oates vibe.
“I’ve been a UGG fan since high school and feel so good wearing the boots. I even had a custom camo pair made for me last year,” says Malone. “Being comfortable to express myself has always been at my core, and that’s why this is such a killer partnership.”
His long-time creative crew—producer/director Ramez “Mezzy” Silyan, stylist Catherine Hahn and photographer Adam DeGross—contributed to the campaign.
“One of our creative directors, Irwin Matutina, had a vision of Post Malone riding on a horse as a central visual in the film,” AKQA CCO She Hung tells Muse.
“Mezzy thought it would be fun to give the spot the feel of a Spaghetti Western, but with a modern twist,” Hung recalls. “We shot at the famous Marathon Alley in Nashville and were able to capture everything in one day.”
