Monster Made of Sticky Notes Returns for Progressive

It shadows a party planner

An annoying monster returns to stalk the land in fresh work from Progressive Insurance. And it’s not Jamie!

The brand’s beast made of sticky notes follows a party planner in the spot below from Arnold Worldwide and Smuggler director Björn Rühmann.

It slaps to-do reminders everywhere. “Refill helium,” read one. “Buy candles,” says another.

So irritating. Bad monster!

The work urges small-business owners to engage with Progressive, which stands ready to lighten their load.

“It was a no-brainer to bring back our lovable [yet somewhat of a nightmare] Monster To-Do List,” says Arnold SVP, group creative director Donnell Johnson. “We got great feedback from all kinds of small business owners, who found the campaign truly captures their reality. That, while helpful, their own everyday to-do lists can be a bit of a beast to handle.”

Though not a Halloween commercial per se, the spot rocks a vaguely spooky vibe. We also dig the ’70’s Saturday-morning-kids-show-style costume. In a CGI world, the Krofft Bros. aesthetic lives on!

Presumably, the creature could feature in campaigns until its supply of little yellow squares runs out. So … great?

The work began breaking in recent weeks on TV and OLV.
