Beyoncé and Levi's Revisit the Brand's 'Refrigerator' Spot From the '80s
Her chillest remake yet?
Brrr, it’s getting hot in here.
After visiting the “Launderette” and “Pool Hall,” Beyoncé heads to a diner in the third installment of Levi’s “Reimagine” campaign.
This time, the Queen puts her denim jacket on ice in a fresh take on the brand’s “Refrigerator” commercial from 1988.
She’s always fiyah, and this fun ad series is no exception. It’s designed to stoke nostalgia while luring new fans. The strategy’s paid off, apparently, with parent Levi Strauss last week reporting unexpectedly strong Q1 sales.
“Levi’s isn’t a legacy brand—it’s a brand with an incredible legacy that has consistently remained at the center of culture,” says global CMO Kenny Mitchell. “We’re building on decades of classic Levi’s iconography and celebrating what it means to lead with intent and confidence.”
Bey’s Cowboy Carter collaborator Willie Jones also appears.
TBWA\Chiat\Day L.A. handled creative development, while Grammy-winner Melina Matsoukas directed through de la revolućion/Prettybird.
