MobLand, Andor and Other Great Hollywood Trailers

With F1, Materialists and more

Here are some trailers that caught our eye this week…

F1
Apple Original Films / Warner Bros.
Trailer Agency: Buddha Jones / Major Major

A retired Formula One driver is lured back and teams up with a rookie. It opens with Javier Bardem’s V.O. describing “Sonny Hayes” as the best that never was—over quick close-ups of a hand shifting gears and a foot to the pedal. We never get a good look at Sonny until Javier faces the washed up, gamblin’ junkie, played by Brad Pitt. Once we meet the young rookie (Damson Idris), we’re off to the races with clashing egos and driving styles. Racing into theaters June 27.

Materialists
A24
Trailer Agency: Motive

Matchmaker Lucy  must choose between the perfect catch and her imperfect ex. Things get spicy at her client’s wedding when a handsome older man offers to get her a drink. Suddenly, she’s reunited with her ex, who’s catering the wedding. Starring Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal. This love triangle hits theaters June 13.

MobLand
Paramount + Original
Trailer Agency: Zealot

A deadly power grab heats up between two warring crime families. Mick Jagger’s howl at the start of “Sympathy for the Devil” sets an ominous tone as mobster Conrad Harrigan warns folks to never cross his clan. Tom Hardy plays the cold-blooded fixer. Drumbeats deliver a chilling finish. Did I mention it’s from Guy Ritchie ? The new series streams on Paramount+ March 30.

Overcompensating
Prime Original
Trailer Agency: Grandson

We watch a college football player struggle with his sexuality in this hilarious teaser that demands your attention. The camera pans along the floor of bathroom stalls: We spy pants around ankles, legs shaking and fast breathing. Starring Benito Skinner and Adam Dimarco, this new Prime series streams on May 15.

Andor
Disney +
Trailer Agency: MOCEAN

Casian Andor embarks on a path to find his destiny. Blaring alarms, boots hitting the ground and tense music transport us to a galaxy that’s far, far away—and on the verge of war. Andor’s key line: “Welcome to the rebellion.” The final season streams on Disney+ April 22.
