Meet the 'Wizard Behind Wicked'

As part of its partnership with Wicked, Lexus went behind the scenes—or in this case, behind the curtain—with the film’s director, Jon M. Chu.

In “The Wizard Behind Wicked” from Team One, Chu brings viewers inside his office, where the creative juices flow with movie memorabilia on display. There’s the first 3D-printed train created for the film, along with Elphaba’s glasses and broomstick.

Chu recounts his upbringing, with tales of working at his parent’s Chinese restaurant and shooting videos at a young age. Customers knew who to call for a wedding or Bar Mitzvah videographer!

Years ago, his mother took him to see Wicked before it debuted on Broadway, his fist step on a cinematic Yellow Brick Road.
