Termites Created This Artwork for Orkin
Posters show the damage pests can cause in homes
DDB Chicago enlisted termites as the ultimate insider artists for pest control company Orkin. A poster series seeks to raise awareness of the damage such insects can cause to homes.
The first 500 customers to sign up for a free inspection will receive artwork based on actual baseboards, walls and foundations ravaged by these ravenous Rembrandts.
Did we say Rembrandts? More like artsy mapmakers or AI responding to “surrealistic landscape” prompts.

“Our goal is to reach new homeowners—many of whom are in the process of decorating and personalizing their homes—and use a fresh perspective to show them how critical termite protection is,” says DDB CCO Colin Selikow.
As for the process, “By zooming in, we highlighted the intricate details that an Orkin Pro would examine” when treating an infestation, agency GCD Amy Gozalka tells Muse. “Up close, these images reveal a surprising beauty. Though they represent a costly work of art no homeowner wants to own.”
The campaign runs through October. In addition to the posters, elements will break across OLV and social media.
