'Smell Like Santa Without Sleeping With Him,' Fussy Says

Kringle's nice and naughty this year

Here’s a new spin on unwrapping holiday packages.

It’s Christmas morning, and a youngster wonders why his mom and dad smell just like Santa. They weren’t cuddling with Claus just a few hours earlier … were they?

Of course they were!

Catch Kringle like never before in a :60 from natural deodorant maker Fussy. It’s SFW. Probably. You don’t see anything. But, clearly, those parents are satisfied with Santa’s gifts. Very satisfied.

OK, who else wants to sit on his lap?

Created by 10 Days London, the spot breaks today online, introducing Fussy’s limited-edition Lost Claus, a “Santa-inspired scent.”

“When Fussy came to us to do a Christmas ad for their new scent, we wanted to keep close to the classic, heart warming, John Lewis-esc Christmas ads that fill our screens during the festive season. But of course it needed a twist,” agency creative producer Eleanor Harvey tells Muse.

“We thought about all the ways and reasons why you could and would want to smell like Santa—and then we landed on the obvious answer!”

Not so obvious to some of us. But playfully subversive in a Liquid Death kind of way. (Though LD would’ve tossed Rudolph under the covers too. *shudders*)

For the shoot, “Christmas trees, decorations and mince pies were all readily available,” Harvey recalls. “But finding a time that worked for Santa, on the other hand, was more of a challenge.”

Glad they got the real St. Nick, not some actor.

“We wanted to create something that was going to stand out from the sea of worthy and same-y Christmas ads,” adds CCO Joylon White, who also directed. “It’s a festive story that’s never been told before—for obvious reasons.”

Sexy Santas are all the rage this year, with Target and Duracell rocking somewhat similar themes. And let’s not forget Ryan Reynolds’ frosty-hot abs for Aviation Gin!
