Watch John Legend Pen a Track for Montblanc Cologne

Hey, John Legend, we want you to spontaneously write a song for Montblanc while the cameras roll. No pressure!

Of course, songwriting’s in the Oscar/Emmy/Grammy/Tony winner’s wheelhouse. So, he sits at a piano and composes a track designed to celebrate creativity and embody the spirit of Montblanc Legend for men.

The artist devises a jazzy instrumental, uplifting and sophisticated, rippling with moody expectation.

A sure No. 1? Hardly. Made up on the spot? Hard to say. F&F briefed Legend a few weeks before the shoot, but we’re told he worked out the particulars of the piece on set.

Regardless, the melody suits the brand proposition. It’s the kind of song one might hear at a hot retro club, perfect for a late-summer night with the bergamot scent of Montblanc in the air.
