Uber Eats Dishes Up Celebs and Wordplay for SB59 Extravaganza

With Matthew McConaughey, Kevin Bacon, Greta Gerwig, Charli XCX and more

Uber Eats ordered celebrities with a side of repartee for its Super Bowl entry, with Matthew McConaughey probing a “conspiracy theory” that football exists mainly to sell food. That idea, introduced in earlier ads, feels stretched to the limit, but amusingly so, with plenty of stars on the menu.

Developed with Special Group U.S. and director Jim Jenkins, we get 60 seconds of famous faces, time-trippy humor and gastronomic puns.

So many snacks. The Coffee Mate tongue must be salivating. Ew!

McConaughey does a fine job of holding it all together, with a charismatic performance that elevates the material. And yes, he appears as legendary Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka, riffing with one of the team’s former greats, William Perry—whose nickname, “Refrigerator,” explains his cameo here.

McConaughey impersonates Peyton Manning, too, screaming “Omaha! Omaha!” Fans will get the joke. Presumably.

Martha Stewart, Greta Gerwig and Sean Evens also appear.

And Kevin Bacon brings it home in a flashback. Props to the dude with the salty, crispy surname.

(Which brand will take home the 2025 Super Clio for the Big Game’s best ad? We’ll find out on Feb. 10.)
