Cher Visits the Wrong '80s in Aussie Ad From Uber Eats
She turned back time too far
Let’s petition for this spot to run in the Super Bowl!
Cher goes back to the ’80s in an Uber Eats commercial running in Australia. Only problem is … it’s the 1680s.
The :60 starts with the icon humming her hit “If I could Turn Back Time” as she’s getting dressed. Next, Cher orders a time machine in the Uber Eats app and requests that it take her to the ’80s. She winds up in the 17th Century instead, where no one is enlightened enough to appreciate the legend in their midst. And she finds herself straddling a cannon, a nod to her video from the most recent ’80s.
“She’s a witch,” yell the townspeople. “I’m not a witch. I’m an icon,” Cher replies.
She’s convicted and sentenced to be burned at the stake.
“Time Machine: No. Thyme: Yes,” closes the ad from Special Australia.
