That's Entertainment: A Look Back at 50 Years of the Key Art Awards
Jesse Balzer explores the Clio program's roots
In this special edition of the Creative Mentor Series, we invited PhD candidate Jesse Balzer to help kick off Clio Entertainment’s 50th anniversary year with a fascinating look back at the past five decades of the Key Art/Clio Entertainment Awards.
As a part of his PhD studies, Jesse has done a deep dive into the history of the program and was kind enough to share some of his research with us in this compelling presentation. He highlights past winners, jurors and honorary recipients and discusses the various changes the awards have gone through over the past 50 years. From watching trailers off an old projector to a 1,500-person show at the Dolby Theatre, learn how the program has adapted and evolved. You’ll even see a clip of the famed Five Men and a Limo video!
We can’t think of a better way to usher in our year-long celebration of the history of entertainment marketing and are grateful to have a program historian to call on to teach us a few things. Tune in for a history lesson and a trip back in time to 1971!
