Prize Package: Naughty Santa From Fussy Tops Our Readers' Poll
Disney and the Norwegian Postal Service also placed high on the ranking of top holiday ads
Sex sells, even for Santa.
Kringle’s bedroom antics topped our second-annual holiday readers’ poll.
And it wasn’t particularly close. Fussy’s “Smelling Is Believing”—rocking a tinsel-time three-way!—tallied 40 percent of the vote. (That’s what happens when Santa does some polling of his own.)
Silly, satirical stuff often plays well here on Muse. And by often, we mean always. So, the natural deodorant brand’s triumph came as a scant surprise.
Disney and the Norwegian Postal Service placed second and third, respectively, netting 13 and 9 percent of the vote among our “12 Ads of Christmas.” Both tales felt whimsical in different ways. The Mouse pulled heartstrings, while NPS skewered celebrity culture through a Rudolph mock-doc.
Fussy broke the mold and produced a kooky classic. Elsewhere, we saw cheeky humor, deep emotion and potent nostalgia—plus Deadpool Ryan Reynolds snarking it up as only he can.
1. Fussy, “Smelling Is Believing”
2. Disney, “The Boy & The Octopus”
3. Norwegian Postal Service, ‘The Reinfall’
