Kids With Rare Diseases Save the Holidays in Montefiore Ad
Steve Rogers directs 'The Rarest Stars Shine Brightest'
A group of friends with rare diseases bring light to the holiday season in Montefiore Einstein’s 3-minute ad from Alto.
Directed by Steve Rogers, “The Rarest Stars Shine Brightest” rocks an ’80s vibe. Channeling The Goonies and Stranger Things, five kids save the day when a blackout hits NYC just before the holidays.
Each youngster lives with a painful disease treated by the specialists at Montefiore, and the work serves as a seasonal (and cinematic) reminder of the good works done by the hospital’s team of doctors, nurses and assorted specialists.
The video is running on TV, social, OTT, OOH and digital. Here’s a look at Montefiore Einstein’s heartwarming holiday ads from the past few years.
“The challenge of telling a holiday film featuring intergalactic travel, astronautical engineering and recalcitrant animals, starring five kids with rare diseases who had never acted before was considerable,” says Rogers. “Fortunately, the kids were not only up to the challenge, but were incredible every day—smart, funny, resourceful and kind. Being able to help these kids show their fearlessness in the face of enormous adversity and have some fun doing it was a rare pleasure.”
