The Travel Agency Becomes the New York Film Festival's First Cannabis Sponsor
Where the plant and culture go hand in hand
The New York Film Festival, now in its 62nd year, has landed its first cannabis sponsor: The Travel Agency.
This integrated sponsorship takes the form of “Cinephile Game Nights” at Union Square in NYC, as well as at Lincoln Center, where the screenings are taking place.
Brand partners Ayrloom, Hudson Cannabis, Rov and Silly Nice are on hand during these nightly events, giving attendees a diverse view of the cannabis industry. Along with uninfused sampling and education efforts, the outreach strives to illuminate the connection between cannabis and cinema. (Both share transportive, transcendent qualities, the ability to alter perceptions and help folks view their circumstances—and the broader world—through fresh eyes.
“For 62 years, the New York Film Festival has stood as a beacon for innovation and creative excellence in film—in the era of legal cannabis in New York, we had the opportunity to take the next step in innovation by being the first cannabis sponsor of this legendary festival,” says Srda, the cannabis company’s partnerships and events manager.
The program is part of Travel Agency’s larger effort to destigmatize, educate and normalize legal use of the plant.
“As we’ve found through our research and from our customers, people use cannabis as the perfect pairing for cultural programming. Through this sponsorship, we hope to introduce ourselves to a new community of New Yorkers and remind them where to ‘get the goods’ that make any seat great.”
