From Watchmen to IT, See This Week's New Trailers and Posters

Plus, The Righteous Gemstones on HBO

Fair warning: We saw some scary stuff this week. If you’re just catching up, make sure your colleagues aren’t nearby as you watch this week’s trailers. At one point, I jumped so hard, I had nearly three inches of air. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

It wasn’t all scary, though, as we got to be reminded of why Bruce Springsteen is the Boss and the power of a good samaritan. We also found Jesus with the help of Danny McBride, John Goodman and Adam DeVine.

Here’s a look back at some of the notable trailers and posters we saw this week.

Blinded By the Light

Agency: Mob Scene

Bruce Springsteen and his music serve as the heartbeat of Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema’s latest feel-good flick, Blinded By the Light. The coming-of-age tale centers around a young Indian man who finds himself through Bruce’s music. One thing’s for sure—from Michelle Obama to Chris Christie, we can all agree on the power of the Boss. Fall for Bruce all over again Aug. 14.

Crawl

Agency: Project X/AV
Poster Agency: BLT Communications

Prepare to hold your breath. This trailer for the new Paramount Pictures horror film Crawl will have you jumping in your seat. Watch for yourself. The poster really sets the tone. Prepare for the full scare on July 12.

Spider-Man: Far From Home

Agency: Concept Arts

In the new trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home (which DOES INCLUDE spoilers from Avengers: Endgame), Peter Parker is in need of a getaway. Of course, there’s no real vacation when you’re a superhero. See what Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have in store next for our favorite high school hero when Spider-Man swings into theaters on July 2.

The Righteous Gemstones

Agency: MOCEAN

Get ready to rejoice! Danny McBride, John Goodman and Adam DeVine are coming to HBO as a family of televangelists. There’s glitz, there’s glam, and there’s a lot of rivalries. Prepare to have your spirits raised this August.

Rim of the World

Agency: Big Picture

After a group of young campers wanders off from adventure camp, they get much more than expected when the world is suddenly attacked by aliens. Mankind must depend on a group of kids to save us all. In the spirit of The Goonies and Stranger Things, this new Netflix adventure film looks like it will be an imaginative good time. Adventure awaits May 24.

The Lodge

Agency: Zealot
Poster Agency: P+A

The trailer and poster for The Lodge, a new horror film from Neon, will leave you shivering at the core. This Sundance darling is praised to be a horror classic in the making. Decide for yourself when the secrets of The Lodge are revealed this fall.

Ambitions

Agency: Buddha Jones

Sex, lies, politics, scandal—it’s all included in the series trailer for Ambitions, a new original series from OWN. Talk about drama. Brace yourself because claws are coming out. Thanks, Oprah!

Watchmen

Agency: Bond

The Watchmen are coming to HBO this fall and let me be blunt: It. Looks. Awesome. The teaser for the series, which stars Regina King, Don Johnson and Jeremy Irons, will have you wishing away every moment between now and the premiere. Tick-tock.

Good Sam

Agency: Revolve Agency

Sometimes we all need to be reminded about the power of good. That’s exactly the intention of Netflix’s new film, Good Sam. The trailer will remind you how one act of kindness can inspire many, and it will definitely inspire you to tune in May 16.

IT: Chapter 2

Agency: Buddha Jones

IT’s back, and IT looks scary as hell. The new trailer to the much-anticipated horror continuation from Warner Bros. focuses on the return of the Losers’ Club to Derry. As adults, the gang must once again fight down the demon that tormented them as children. IT: Chapter 2 stars Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy and Bill Hader. See the full nightmare on Sept. 6.
