It was an exciting week in entertainment. There were zombies, monsters, fairies, and Will Smith times two. Of course, what really had everyone buzzing was the reunion of Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Al Pacino. Let’s just say the boys are back in town. 

Here’s a look at some of the notable trailers and posters released this week.


Zombieland 2: Double Tap

It’s finally happening! The trailer for Zombieland 2 is here, and it’s everything we could’ve hoped for—action, comedy, an all-star cast, and new zombies to destroy. My favorite thing about this trailer is the brilliant pacing, which at the end leaves you feeling like you just stepped off a rollercoaster. That’s good branding. Enjoy the full ride Oct. 18. 


Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark

If you’re ready for a good scare, check out the trailer for Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. When a book of scary stories is brought to life, a town is tormented by the evil that arises from the pages. Brace yourself for a good scare Aug. 9.


Gemini Man

We saw the teaser, and now the trailer for Gemini Man is here—and the visuals are mindblowing. In the trailer, the story begins to unfold and we get a better understanding of why Will Smith is trying to annihilate a cloned version of himself. Coming from the brilliant mind of Ang Lee, I imagine this film will be an eye-opening examination of humanity—the trailer is only the first taste. See for yourself Oct. 11.


The Hunt

Things turn awry when a group of elitists kidnap civilians for their annual manhunt. This action-packed trailer keeps your heart racing, but the tone is really set midway through when “Can’t You See” kicks in. Get in on this deadly game Sept. 27. 


The Lighthouse

While the visuals and editing for The Lighthouse are striking, what really sets this trailer apart is the sound design. Every second of sound, or lack therof, drives the trailer brilliantly. It’s easy to drive horror by using the traditional genre tropes, but what this trailer reminds us is that when it comes to horror, less is more. This chilling trailer definetely delivers. Uncover the mystery Oct. 18. 


Carnival Row

Carnival Row looks like a fantasy extravaganza. There are fairies, monsters and murder—what else do you need? Everything about the trailer, including the typography, feels carnivalesque and true to brand.The fun begins Aug. 30.


Undone

Check out the trailer for this visually stunning adult animated series that follows a young woman whose life is turned upside down after her father’s death. Shout-out to the awesome motion graphic designs in the trailer. Check it out Sept. 13.


The Irishman

The teaser for the The Irishman is here, and it looks like it’s going to be one hell of a ride. The editing and sound design are jolting and increase the intensity with every passing second. Based on the story around the mysterious disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa, Martin Scorsese’s first feature film with Netflix stars Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci. Mark your calendars because The Irishman comes to a screen near you this fall.
