Alto and director Johan Renck developed “Become the Knight,” a mega-moody :60 heralding “Batman: Arkham Shadow” for Meta Quest 3/3S.

Our story unfolds from the Caped Crusader’s POV, with Batman himself repped by shadows across pavement, walls and skyscrapers.

It’s an effective approach, mainly because BM’s silhouette is so unmistakable:

So, we get an immersive spot hyping an immersive gaming experience. Holy Zuck! That feels BANG! on brand.

“Never have you ever had the opportunity to be the hero as in ‘Batman: Arkham Shadow,'” says Meta Reality Labs head creative Jorge Calleja Acuna. “We wanted the campaign to reflect that feeling. To capture the emotion of you holding Gotham together from its latest infestation.”

An intense take on “Poison” by Liam Howlett of The Prodigy provides the soundtrack. It’s suitably menacing, though distracting at times.

But hey, it ain’t easy fighting crime these days.

The film will run across connected TV, online video and paid social, with DOOH, podcast and DM elements, too.
