Liquid Death and Dr. Squatch Create 'Soap for Psychos'
Now we know how Murder Man gets clean
Liquid Death teamed up with Dr. Squatch to create “Dirt Murderer,” a so-called “soap for psychos,” infused with … Liquid Death’s mountain water, what else?
The spot below rocks a ’90s sitcom vibe. It shows a hockey-masked killer preparing to shower. He drops his robe, hangs up his blood-covered ax and “washes his crimes away.” The face of “LD Murder Man” appears on a limited run of packaging. It will leave you “smelling fresher than the mountain stream where you play splashy time with your severed head collection,” the ad says.
“Dr. Squatch is another great brand with a great cult following so it was only a matter of time before we teamed up for something fun,” says Andy Pearson, VP of creative at Liquid Death. “As we talked about iconic soap advertising, we started laughing about the idea of using super hot serial killers as our shower models, and the idea behind Soap For Psychos was born.”
The soap, which smells like eucalyptus, juniper and cedarwood, is available on Dr.Squatch.com for $8 per item (or $24 for a 3-pack). The vid is running on YouTube and social media.
“Throwing soap perfectly through a running stream of water is a lot harder than you would think,” Pearson tells Muse. “Also, if you ever want to stand in a foot of water while shooting a commercial, try shooting an open shower scene. This was definitely our wettest one yet. And no one was killed in the making of this video.”
