Kaiju Furby Invades London for Hey Dude Footwear
The Berry goes big
Cute and cuddly or demonically destructive? We’ll soon find out!
A huge-ass Furby stalks London in the :30 below. Lots of smaller Fubries in the street seem delighted.
Creative studio The Berry unleashed the spot for shoe brand Hey Dude, which joined with Hasbro—maker of the weird robo-toys—for Furby-inspired retro footwear.
Maybe Furbzilla will battle Kellogg’s kaiju cockerel. We should be so lucky.
Ryan Burnham and Luke Robson directed.
The team captured early-A.M. plate shots in Parliament Square. They integrated Images of blinking, shuffling, ear-wagging Furbies into the city footage. The police cars and helicopters arrived in post through CGI, as did the giant Furby.
“This has been an absolute dream project,” Robson says. “From the moment we pitched our idea for the collab under the title ‘Furbzilla’ and got the green light, we knew we were onto a winner. It’s got everything from action-packed visuals, stunning CGI, iconic products and plenty of tongue-in-cheek humor, all set against the backdrop of our home turf—London! We’re only just kicking off the new year, but I can already say with confidence this one’s going to be hard to beat!”
