Best Buy's Hologram Hype Man Comes Home for the Holidays

Gram's all about doorbusters and gifting

Nothing says Christmas like a diminutive hologram who wants us all to shop at Best Buy.

So, “Gram” returns this week in the retailer’s lighthearted holiday campaign:

Tech generates the character. He’s hawking tech items. Check!

Here, we get mellow, mainstream, mildly merry vignettes. Alliterative headline be damned, Gram’s more helper than hypester. (Let’s leave the blustery bustle of seasonal shopping to Target, shall we?)

The work touts deals and “Doorbusters” shopping at home as BB looks to expand its appeal and reverse recent sales declines.

O Positive’s Amber Scheaffer (an SNL vet) directed the commercials, which were developed by Best Buy’s in-house team.

X-15, Accenture Song and Rise & Shine Partners also contributed to the campaign.
