Big Papi, Big Hurt: 'Woowee!'

Everyone shouts that incessantly in a Wild West-themed commercial touting an “MVP Buyback Program” from Topps baseball cards.

MLB legends David Ortiz and Frank Thomas—aka Big Papi and Big Hurt—wrangled top billing. Pedro Martinez, Rollie Fingers and Vladimir Guerrero Sr. also hit the trail.

It’s a prospector scenario—amusing but irritating in equal measures—tied to yesterday’s announcement that Aaron Judge and Shoehi Ohtani earned MLB MVP honors.

Papi and the guys are great in their silly roles, and Easter Eggs abound. (Note the “Wanted” posters at the trading post.)

The brand proposition: Fans can exchange Topps Chrome MVP player cards for store credit at participating hobby shops nationwide.
