It builds communities that can last generations

Jen is SVP of marketing and media for the Philadelphia Eagles. She is responsible for leading the club’s global brand development, audience growth and engagement. She also oversees the organization’s community relations, marketing and data analytics.
Under Kavanagh, the Eagles launched Pennsylvania’s first girls’ high school flag football league in 2022. The program now features over 100 teams. The Eagles also partnered with Operation Warm for the FLY:FWD sports bra line.
In addition, Kavanagh helped lead the “Kelly Green Throwback” campaign, reimagining uniforms from the 1990s.
We spent two minutes with Jen to learn more about her background, her creative inspirations and recent work she’s admired.
Jen, tell us …
Where you grew up, and where you live now.
I was born in St. Louis—love my roots. My family moved to Orlando when I was 11—loved the sunshine. I currently reside in Newtown Square, Pa.—love the Philly fan energy.
Your earliest sports memory.
Watching Mary-Lou Retton in the 1984 Summer Olympics. She was so phenomenal and had the biggest smile I’d ever seen. She inspired me to begin gymnastics classes.
Your favorite sports team(s).
The Philadelphia Eagles!
Your favorite athlete(s).
One of my absolute favorites is Brandon Graham. His energy and optimism are infectious on the field and in our community. It’s impossible not to smile and feel good when you’re around him. Not to mention his sack of Tom Brady in SB LII.
Your favorite sports show or podcast.
I love listening to Calm Down With Erin and Charissa. Their experiences as accomplished women working in sports really connects with me.
Your favorite sports movie and/or video game.
Rudy, hands down. I always shed a tear when his teammates and the entire stadium start chanting, “Rudy! Rudy!”
A recent project you’re proud of.
We played our season opener in Brazil—the first NFL game ever played in South America. We brought Eagles fans from the U.S. and Brazil together to celebrate in São Paulo with legends, cheerleaders, our mascot and staff. It was incredible to see the love for the Eagles expressed across cultures.
Someone else’s project that you admired recently.
Nikki Glaser’s “Late Hits” on Thursday Night Football. The idea and placement for the segment was fresh and fun.
What sports can do that nothing else can.
Create unbreakable bonds and community that can last generations.
What you’d be doing if you weren’t in the sports world.
I’d still be building brands, telling stories and connecting with audiences and communities. It’s my passion.
