Paramount+, HBO and Marvel: Scenes From New York Comic-Con 2024
Bringing fantasy to life
Muse went to New York Comic-Con, held last week at the Jacob Javits Convention Center, and it was a blast. Here are some brand highlights that we experienced along the way.
Dexter: Original Sin on Paramount+
To promote Dexter: Original Sin, the origin story of Dexter Morgan—the blood-spatter analyst by day and serial killer by night—Paramount+ took fans inside a refrigerated shipping container. The vessel had all the components of a typical Dexter crime scene: gore, framed photographs of murder victims and a kill table. One by one, each visitor “died,” covered in the show’s plastic wrap. Good times! The new series premieres on Dec. 13.
Dune: Prophecy on HBO
Premiering Nov. 17, Dune: Prophecy is a prequel to the 2021 movie that focuses on the Bene Gesserit Sisterhood. NYCC visitors got a sneak peek inside the world of Wallach IX and partook of the Sisterhood’s training methods. Answer queries correctly, and you advanced to another chamber for a special ceremony and bling. Droga5 crafted the experience.
Marvel Universe
Marvel announced the launch of “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man,” a prequel comic series (setting up the current offering on Disney+). Fans grabbed a newspaper and nabbed a quick pic with the young hero. Marvel also announced “One World Under Doom,” launching in 2025.
