EA Sports FC Fields Bellingham, Beckham and More
Spoiler: They play to win
EA Sports FC fanatics, remember to breathe.
A film hyping the iconic soccer game’s 25th addition feels downright exhausting.
Directed by Somesuch’s Rollo Jackson, the quick cuts of gameplay and celebs are unrelenting.
That, of course, is the point. They’re joyously swept up in the on-screen action, blistered fingers aching with each click of the controller, far too busy to wash the dishes piled up so stinky in the sink.
England and Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham get the best bit. After failing to score in FC 25, his brother Jobe unleashes a zinger about Jude’s status on the game’s packaging.
David Beckham’s in there, too. Plus Zinedine Zidane, Gianluigi Buffon, Trent Alexander-Arnold, F1 world champion Max Verstappen and music duo Dave x Tiakola.
Do they ever take a break? (If they’re true gamers, after 36 hours … maybe.)
EA also plans to roll out “a series of talent shorts and thematic chapters” focusing on specific endorsers.
“FC 25 is so much fun to play with your mates and this work really emphasizes the whole authentic range of emotions that arise from each match,” says senior director of franchise marketing Charlie Villiers.
“Rather than creating a one-size-fits-all piece of content, this body of work, with the various chapters and shorts we created, allows us to really delve into each moment related to FC and be more intentional and relevant as we roll it out.”
