Thierry Henry Flexes His Acting Chops for Samsung

Such range ahead of the FIFA World Cup

How would Thierry Henry acquit himself playing an action hero, K-drama Romeo, P.I. or astronaut?

Judge for yourself as the soccer legend adopts various guises for Samsung:

Nice spaceman. But his sports presenter needs work. Heh.

Breaking ahead of the FIFA World Cup, the campaign seeks to convey Samsung’s standing as a TV leader in fun, sharable fashion. To that end, Henry’s likable persona shines through, while the role-playing adds an extra layer of goofy charm.

“Henry was completely game, and has this singular confidence that makes him feel like he belongs in any scene, whether he’s delivering a noir monologue or hanging off a helicopter,” says Luke Somasundram, ACD at BBH Singapore, which helped develop the initiative.

“We ended up using nearly everything we shot, aside from a few outtakes that might eventually see the light of day.”

The work starts rolling out today across 25 European markets.
