L.A. Chargers' 2024 Schedule Release Mocks Butker (and Other Rivals, Too)
Taylor Swift even makes an appearance
Spring is shaping up to be the season of the sports roast. First, Netflix’s The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady blew us away by torching the now retired quarterback. Now, the in-house social and content teams for the Los Angeles Chargers have set a flamethrower to the NFL in the most clever and, dare we say, delightful way in the team’s 2024 schedule release video.
Yes, Harrison Butker is in there. Baking a pie. Near the end. Wait for it.
should we REALLY make our schedule release video in the sims?

While the Chargers are known for making some of the best schedule release videos, they really outdid themselves with this year’s video. They spoofed The Sims 2, packing it with NFL and pop-culture references and jokes, with Easter eggs spread throughout.
Not one of the team’s 17 opponents in the league is spared from mockery. The Chargers gleefully roast everyone, dressing fans of the Las Vegas Raiders up as clowns; depicting Sean Payton, the coach of the Denver Broncos, returning three of his players to Ball-Mart; and poking fun at the Cleveland Browns struggles to find a quarterback.
Oh, and the most famous person associated with the NFL—Taylor Swift—also appears, interrupting her boyfriend Travis Kelce as he records an episode of his podcast with his brother, Jason. Taylor whisks Travis away in a private jet she parked on his front lawn.
Kudos to the fearless Chargers social and content teams, which include David Bretto, director, creative video; Hannah Johnson, seasonal assistant, organic social; Megan Julian, director, social media and content performance; Tyler Pino, senior director, production; and Allie Raymond, senior manager, organic social media.
