Dierks Bentley Helps 5-Hour Energy Break Into This Week's Most Shazam'd Ads
The brand is also sponsoring the country star's tour
5-Hour Energy signed Dierks Bentley, the country music star noted for his high-energy live performances, to an endorsement deal this year. And the TV spot is already paying dividends—breaking into our list of the most Shazam’d ads.
The commercial, part of the brand’s “Back to 100%” campaign, features the 42-year-old singer’s new track “Woman, Amen” off his 2018 album The Mountain. The only new spot in the top 10 on this week’s Shazam list, it debuts at No. 9.

Bentley’s deal with 5-Hour Energy is multi-platform integration that includes, in addition to the national TV spot, exclusive social media content, product sampling and education, direct fan engagement and a sponsorship of his 2018 tour.
In a statement earlier this year, Bentley said 5-Hour Energy shots “allow me to tap into my peak energy level at any moment and hit the stage with maximum power and presence.”
“Woman, Amen,” the first single off Bentley’s ninth studio album, is a proclamation of love for his wife, Cassidy Black. It was co-written with Ross Copperman and Josh Kear.
“It’s very direct, and very honest for me in my relationship with my wife,” Bentley told country music site The Boot. “I feel more grateful for her every year that goes along. I get so caught up in the music, and she helps steer me through all the work and being out on the road, and just helping me be the man that I am. She has more vision in some ways—as most women do.”
He added: “The album is a big, inclusive thing, with all these songs about living, or the mountains, the sun, lots of nature and landscape and fields. But this all starts at home, with her.”
Two Target spots that have both been on the Shazam list for many weeks finished at No. 1 and No. 2 this week.
