Yes, That Was a MysteryVibe Vibrator on a Billboard in NYC
Normalizing menopause by prescribing masturbation
Roughly 2 million women in America hit menopause every year, yet it isn’t widely discussed.
And it should be. Because those entering that time of life need support and guidance as they face hormonal and body changes. These can include vaginal dryness, decreased sensation and libido, pelvic floor issues and urinary problems.
Enter MysteryVibe’s Crescendo sex toy—which its makers say can alleviate menopause symptoms. The device increases blood flow, aids circulation and promotes tissue repair. It’s FDA approved and FSA/HSA eligible.
Havas Lynx Group erected a billboard—”Happy Menopause”—in NYC’s Hell’s Kitchen for the brand to educate passersby about orgasm prescriptions and reduce the stigma around menopause.
“Discussing masturbation in the male world is as normal as ordering a coffee. But in the female universe, especially when it comes to talking about women in the post-menopause period, it becomes taboo,” says the Havas Lynx creative team. “We believe that the campaign has the power to inform women about the importance of paying attention to their sexual health, and to show the benefits of masturbation for these women, helping to combat what is one of society’s last taboos.”
The agency notes the vibrator is the first sex toy on billboards in the U.S.
“We believe that the company approved the campaign to be shown on the streets of NYC because it first thought the idea was unusual and also understood the power that this message could have in the lives of post-menopausal women,” the creatives tell Muse.
The sex toy is the first to be FDA approved based on its health benefits. Also, consumers can buy it at a discount thanks to its HSA/FSA eligibility.
