From Morbius to The Lovebirds, See This Week's Trailers and Posters

Plus, Netflix fashion and latest for HBO's Westworld

Hollywood was itching with romance this week, from lovebirds to star-crossed lovers. But don’t let the heartstrings fool you, because there was still plenty of action to be had. In fact, we got a little taste of everything this week in entertainment marketing.

We met several figures of super force, some even coming from mythological origins. Then we got to the sweet stuff and rediscovered the magic of coming of age. There were fashion fiascos, hit and runs, and plenty of mystery.

Intrigued? Check out some of this week’s new trailers and posters below.

Morbius

Sony Pictures
Trailer Agency: AV Squad

The trailer for Morbius vividly conveys the complexity of one of Marvel’s darkest characters, played by Jared Leto. The trailer has a nice balance of action and story, offering new depths to the superhero genre. The musical choice drives the pace and intensity. See Morbius this summer.

I Still Believe

Lionsgate
Trailer Agency: Offramp Creative
Poster Agency: N/A

The trailer for I Still Believe will warm your heart with its essence. It explores the musical nature of the film by using an original song, instead of dialogue, to convey the story, functioning almost more like a classic music video. The trailer gives a taste of love, tragedy and all of the wild emotions that live between the lines of any great song or story. I Still Believe arrives in theaters on March 20.

Stargirl

Disney+
Trailer Agency: Seismic Pro
Poster Agency: N/A

Here’s a first look at one of the first Disney+ original films. The trailer for Stargirl is sweet and inspiring, and it beautifully captures the magic of coming of age. Also see the standout key art, sticking strong with the story’s soul. Stream Stargirl on March 13.

Westworld

HBO
Trailer Agency: BOND
Poster Agency: BLT Communications

Westworld’s date-announcement teaser is brilliantly crafted and executed. The white nature of the piece feels clinical and cold, and then you build connection, until the point it feels personal. This is smart, fresh and clever content—my favorite kind. Check out the remarkable character posters as well. Return to Westworld on March 15.

Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway

Sony Pictures
Trailer Agency: Ignition
Poster Agency: WORKS ADV

The new trailer for Peter Rabbit 2 will have you giggling from start to finish with its classic James Corden wit. Join the storybook character as he makes his way through the modern world. The story and humor are enticing for adults and children alike. See what life’s like beyond the garden, and follow Peter and friends to theaters this Easter.

Next in Fashion

Netflix
Trailer Agency: GrandSon

Are you ready to see what’s Next in Fashion? Netflix is on the hunt for fashion’s newest star in this new competition series. The trailer gives you a sneak peek at the characters and styles to come. I especially dig the music selection. Watch the new stars of fashion on Jan. 29.

Ragnarok

Netflix
Trailer Agency: Intermission Film
Poster Agency: The Refinery

The trailer for Ragnarok, Netflix’s new Norwegian teen drama whose story is centered on Norse mythology and climate change, is filled with mystery and bite-sized bits of action. The sound design is standout and builds tension throughout. The key art is breathtaking. The adventure begins on Jan. 31.

The Stranger

Netflix
Trailer Agency: Create Advertising

Based on the novel by Harlan Coben, The Stranger tells the story of a mysterious woman who goes around exposing lies to unexpecting targets. The trailer nicely builds on the mysterious nature of the story through its quick editing combined with an array of close-ups. Discover the mystery of The Stranger on Jan. 30.

The Lovebirds

Paramount Pictures
Trailer Agency: Big Picture
Poster Agency: BLT Communications

The trailer for The Lovebirds is a riotous ride that will have you roaring with laughter. This love story takes a wrong turn when Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani are wrongfully framed for murder. The trailer is filled with sharp-witted humor, but what really makes it a home run? Obviously the Foreigner track—honestly, who can resist a solid ’80s ballad? Follow The Lovebirds to theaters on April 3.
