Gwyneth Paltrow and a Toaster on Wheels Star for Ghetto Gastro

Ghetto Gastro, a Bronx-based culinary collective founded by artist Jon Gray with chefs Pierre Serrao and Lester Walker, has launched a series on Instagram to promote its new brown sugar and sweet potato toaster pastries.

The “Bop Line” campaign kicks off with a video featuring a wacky toaster on wheels.

Oh, Gwyneth Paltrow’s in there, too.

She calls the Bop Line (1-833-GHETTO-1) when a crisis arises.

“Another ski crash?” snarks the operator.

Hardly. Seems Paltrow doesn’t have food anyone wants to eat—kale enemas just won’t do.

Ghetto Gastro has her back. Naturally, they dispatch an adorable toaster on wheels to deliver treat: 

“Ghetto Gastro dropped some new toaster pastry flavors and wanted to celebrate them, but not in a cheesy seasonal way,” Gray tells Muse. “We wanted to create our version of the Budweiser frogs and Geico’s Gecko. It’s about building a creative well that we can continue to dip into.”

Additional clips feature actors Michael Ealy, Siddiq Saunderson, Jerrie Johnso and Maliibu Miitch, all friends of the founders.

An actual Bop Mobile toaster zipped through select Target stores and captured shoppers’ reactions after they tasted the new flavors.

Consumers who call the hotline can win free merch, unlock special offers and learn “WTF is a Bop?”
