Clio Music Refreshes Its Songbook With New Awards and More
There's a collaboration with Billboard, too
The early deadline to submit entries for Clio Music ends Friday, April 28. Big changes are planned for this year’s program.
Two new categories were announced—Fan Engagement and Music Supervision.
Fan Engagement covers work designed to create deeper connections, increase sales or streaming, or drive fan loyalty. Music Supervision applies to ads, trailers and teasers that run 15, 30 or 60 seconds, and the prize recognizes music supervisors specifically.
“We’ll be celebrating the 10th anniversary of Clio Music in 2024 and we’re excited to roll out new program changes that allow us to broaden the scope of work that we honor,” says Michael Kauffman, executive director of Clio Music and Clio Cannabis.
Clio Music also added two new juries this year—Design (in Music Marketing) and Music Supervision (in Use of Music in Advertising). These join existing juries for Music Marketing (Music Marketing, Brand Creative, Music Film & Video) and Use of Music in Advertising (Use of Music in Film/Video Advertising and Use of Music in Trailers & Teasers). Jury chairs will be announced in coming months
“It’s a milestone year to recognize the dynamic power of music to connect artists, fans, and brands around the world, and our collaboration with Billboard on an event during Grammy week in Los Angeles means our celebration will be bigger and better than ever before,” Kauffman tells Muse.
Clio Music also partnered with Billboard to present two new awards next year. One prize honors “Favorite Music from a Commercial,” where fans select a winner. That prize will be bestowed by Billboard during the Clio Music Awards, taking place in Los Angeles during Grammy week next year.
In addition, an Honorary Clio Music Executive Award will celebrate an industry pro who’s creative outlook on advertising has shaped the music industry. This prize will be presented at the 2024 Billboard Power 100 event the night prior to the Clio Music Awards.
