Uncommon's Clever OOH Puts Vimeo Message in Sharp Focus
Video sharing service adds resolution to the picture
Nils Leonard, co-founder of Uncommon, wants to make something perfectly clear concerning his creative studio’s work for Vimeo:
“It’s a story challenging the rules of design itself. Adding a new element never used in a design system before, one that only Vimeo could own: resolution.”
To that end, Uncommon—collaborating with Havas Media and Talon OOH—developed zippy billboards and posters that sharpened to 8K HDR as folks approached Vimeo’s recent Reframe event in NYC.
“As a practice we always look for something remarkable within the work we create,” Leonard says. “Sometimes that is the story behind the design, or something new within the design system.”
The work represents a crip fusion of media and message, a fresh take on design that amusingly illustrates the brand proposition.
Uncommon is well known for its quirky, high-profile out-of-home campaigns. Others of note include The Ordinary’s “Slowvember” and British Airways’ ode to tranquility.
