'Who Gives a Crap' Is Now Bundling Coffee With Its Toilet Paper

The more you poop, the more they donate to charity

Imagine ordering your favorite coffee and scoring a roll of toilet paper on the side.

Who Gives a Crap began with a line of bamboo toilet paper and later branched out to tissues, paper towels and now … coffee. Because at the end of the day, or the start, drinking coffee accelerates your bathroom business—so the more consumers poop, the more toilet paper they’ll order, leading to more money Who Gives a Crap can give to charity.

The limited-edition sustainable coffee and toilet paper bundle is aptly named Blend No. 2 and costs $18. Consumers receive a 12-ounce bag of coffee and one roll of bamboo toilet paper. The coffee is described as an “aromatic blend of chocolatey nutty notes with hints of caramel.”

“We know a lot of people drink coffee, and we’ve heard that coffee makes some people need to do number two,” says Simon Griffiths, co-founder and CEO of Who Gives a Crap. “Blend No. 2 started as a great April Fools’ joke back in 2018, but now we’re serious—we’ve brought this idea to life, for a very limited time, to give people an opportunity to do good just by having a cup of coffee.”

The bundle is being promoted on social media with help from The Brand Guild. It took the company six months to brainstorm and expel Blend No. 2.

With an estimated 52 percent of people saying that drinking coffee makes them poop, the company that gives a crap is banking on the crap of others to reach an important goal.

“Who Gives a Crap hopes the Blend No. 2 Coffee Bundle helps drive our efforts forward in ensuring that everyone in the world has proper access to sanitation by 2050,” Griffiths tells Muse. “We would love for this launch to increase toilet paper sales, because the more toilet paper we sell, the more we can give back to our impact partners around the world that work with local communities to improve sanitation.”
